Layered Landscapes for Toronto Design Offsite Festival

Layered Landscapes explores the urban topography through three-dimensional volumes and material manipulation to exhibit the contrast between urban and natural landscapes. The installation experiments with the layering of forms and materials within a dynamic context to reveal the abstracted landscapes of winter.

Through the exploration of contrasting materials, volumes, and layering, the installation explores the transformation of the Toronto cityscape through the seasons. The softness of winter is contrasted with the vibrancy of the city, creating a layered landscape that draws the curious passer-by into a moment of peacefulness and exploration. The installation is composed of a variety of elements that evoke both natural and urban landscapes with a mixture of soft volumes that evoke feelings of stillness and quietness.
