Jessica Lee, a recent Ryerson Interior Design graduate, won the 2016 Yabu Pushelberg Award for Innovation in Interior Design. Funded through the generous support of RSID alumni George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, with matching funding from the Brookfield Institute and Ryerson University, the award provides an RSID student with $6000 and a DFZ membership to take a project from ideation through to the prototyping stage. An exploration of autogenic processes to form new interior volumes, Jessica’s proposed installation investigates emerging techniques and computational methods, challenging the current role of technology in conceptualizing spaces.
